National Veterinary Associates (NVA) operates more than 1,000 veterinary hospitals and pet service locations across multiple business lines, including Ethos, Pet Resorts, Equine, and General Practice.

Each location serves a distinct community, often under its own regional or local brand, while still contributing to the broader NVA network. The challenge was to create a media framework capable of supporting hundreds of unique markets, delivering locally relevant advertising while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and measurable business impact across the portfolio.

The Insight

Pet care is inherently local. People don’t search for veterinary services nationally, they look for trusted providers in their own neighborhood.

To succeed at scale, NVA’s marketing needed to feel local in every market, while still benefiting from the efficiency and strategic consistency of a national program.

The Approach

We built a centralized media system designed to deliver localized marketing at scale.

First, we established a unified strategic framework that defined how channels, audiences, and KPIs would work across the NVA ecosystem. This structure ensured consistency across brands and markets while allowing flexibility based on local service offerings, brand strength, and competitive dynamics.

Some locations required simple search programs focused on capturing local demand. Others benefited from a broader mix of search, social, display, and out-of-home to build awareness and drive new clients.

To activate this system across more than 1,000 locations, we deployed an automated platform capable of launching, managing, and optimizing campaigns at the location level. This allowed thousands of localized campaigns to run simultaneously, each tailored to the services, audiences, and market conditions of the individual location.

The result was a scalable media engine that made every NVA location feel relevant to its community, while maintaining operational efficiency across the entire network.
